Girl charged with threatening decide

A Texas woman has been charged with threatening to kill the federal judge who presided over a dispute between former President Donald Trump and the Justice Department over records seized in an FBI raid on Trump’s home last month.

An FBI special agent said Tiffani Shea Gish of Houston left three threatening voicemails on the chamber phone of US District Court Judge Aileen Cannon in South Florida, according to a criminal complaint filed Tuesday.

Gish identified herself as fictional Russian agent Evelyn Salt and claimed to be “in charge of nuclear power” for the government, a federal agent and “Trump’s hitman” who had a “license to kill,” according to transcribed excerpts of the calls included in the complaint.

Gish’s alias is the same name as the protagonist played by Angelina Jolie in the 2010 action film Salt.

Trump is “marked for assassination, and so are you,” Gish said in the expletive-filled messages showing the complaint. “You’re full of shit and I’m going to have you fucking shoot yourself. I’ve already ordered snipers and a bomb to your damn house,” Gish allegedly told the voicemails, all of which were created on September 1.

When agents arrived at her home on Sept. 4, Gish initially only spoke through a balcony window, but eventually invited the agents in and spoke to them for about 45 minutes, the complaint says. Gish said in that interview that she left the voicemails from her cell phone and also confirmed that according to the complaint, she owned a Facebook account with posts using the language of the voicemails.

Gish was charged in the US District Court in Houston with one count of influencing a federal official through threats and one count of interstate communications involving threats to kidnap or injure him.

Judge Peter Bray on Friday ordered Gish held in custody, saying she “appears to be suffering from severe mental impairment with symptoms including paranoia and delusions”.

A federal prosecutor had asked for a competency check on Gish, writing in a court filing that her “past conduct demonstrates delusional behavior in claiming to be a CIA agent, a Navy SEAL, an Army Ranger, and someone involved in nuclear weapons or war.” familiar, while at the same time shuffling threats against officials like former President Donald Trump or former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

In March, a US intelligence agent called Gish’s mother, who “claimed that her daughter had severe bipolar disorder and was borderline schizophrenic,” according to court filings.

“While she did not feel that Gish would physically harm the former president, she was still afraid of her daughter and refused to see her in person for fear she would be attacked,” prosecutors wrote.

A competency hearing is scheduled for Tuesday. Gish’s attorneys did not immediately respond to CNBC’s request for comment.

Gish left the voicemails for Cannon, a Trump appointee, as the former president’s attorneys and the DOJ argued over whether the judge should appoint a special master to review the thousands of government records released from Trump’s home last month Mar-a- Lago in Florida were confiscated. This court-appointed independent third party would examine the seized records, many of which bore high-level classifications of non-disclosure, for personal belongings and potentially privileged material.

Cannon approved the appointment of a special champion last week, earning a win for Trump. “Last summer there was a huge surge in support for black brands,” she said, describing the widespread demands for inclusivity and representation that rose after the protests against racism and police brutality. That led some people to ask a new question: how long would it take?

“Would it be something that will last and really make a difference, or was it just a trend?” Mrs. Akers said. “I thought it was important not to wait and see how the fashion industry would react. We were able to create something that we own and we will keep it going, ”she said of the website, which has around three dozen brands.

Ms. Akers, a Maryland-born woman based in Van Nuys, Calif., Also recently designed clothes, a throwback to her teenage years creating clothes for school fashion shows. 2.15 p.m. Visit some of the showrooms to see what’s going on. I went to The Residency, Bryan Smith and Brooklyn PR looking for clothes for a photo shoot with Chloe and for a project with Karol G.

12:15 p.m. I was late for my physiotherapy massage, but I needed to eat, mostly because it was two hours and I hadn’t had breakfast. I prefer to schedule these at the end of the day, but I had to get on where I can fit.

3 pm I’m taking another phone interview with an applicant from the car because my massage has overflowed. Chatting with my massage therapist about new hairstyles, I tried braids for the first time.

3:50 pm I’m late for an early dinner at JG’s The Rooftop with Liza Vassell, the founder of Brooklyn PR. We’re both late, but manage not to lose our table just in time. It’s our first time connecting outside of work. We spent an hour and a half stuffing our faces, discussing our experiences as black women going our own way, and investing in and supporting one another.

6:30 Clock Today was one of those strange days – productive, but somehow I felt I hadn’t done enough. I start mentally checking out by watching trash television.

8:30 am My makeup artist Leah Darcy Pike is coming to prepare a portrait for this column. I decided to put on an aqua blue look from my Macy’s collection.

1:17 pm I call my product development advisor and deliver the good news that I love our new Black Owned Everything candle sample. It’s kind of woody and kind of like patchouli, with those other weird notes. We also discuss possible product ideas that we could bring to market for Juneteenth, such as a summer travel kit.

2:05 pm I open my garage to organize it and then close it again. It’s filled with jewelry, clothes from previous photoshoots, my personal closet overflow, BOE stuff … it’s gone a little bit crazy.

3 pm It’s Chris’ birthday so I’ll run out and get a cake from Sweet Lady Jane and we’ll take a moment.

4:15 p.m. I’m going to a mall in Sherman Oaks to pick up monochromatic sneakers for my weekend shoot with Karol G. I love color blocking, especially red shoes and red bags.

22 O `clock I fall asleep after watching a documentary about Sally Hemings. I am currently obsessed with the tales of slaves. The varied experiences keep astonishing me. I keep them in my brain to remind how resilient we really are as a people.

8:33 a.m. I open the packages for the week one at a time. There are 20-30 – a combination of gifts, black-owned company stuff for us to review, and some celebrity stuff. For the most part, I’m trying to get a few things into my office, but since we’re blurring the lines of the pandemic, I just put them right in one place.

10:45 a.m. Meet Chris so we can set up a rack for Karol G before we head to a faucet. The first thing I usually try with faucets is to see what makes the customer’s face glow. Then I start doing the things he looks forward to the most. Usually the modifications are the hardest part as you want to make sure they will last and last but not damage the garment. As the work scene begins, Martha (Kirby) leans against a stove and her contractions intensify. Her partner Sean, played by Shia LaBeouf, rushes around her and asks repeatedly if she wants water. Ms. Goldman is expected to receive her second dose of vaccine next month. She plans to go.

And when it’s all over, she hopes to be able to take people back into her home, to resume volunteering at a nearby arboretum, and to hold onto her new great-grandchild, whom she hasn’t touched at all.

She is on the phone a lot at the moment – her long journey has been covered by numerous local and national news agencies. The attention, she said, has not bothered her so far.

“I hope it will inspire people to get their shots,” she said. “I think it’s important for the whole country.”

“I’m a nice guy,” says Neil, the character played by Christopher Mintz-Plasse in this scene from Promising Young Woman, which received four Golden Globe nominations this week and is available upon request. Lady Shot in Capitol Has Died

A woman who was fatally shot in the Capitol after being overrun by a pro-Trump mob was shot down by a Capitol police officer, a police officer said Wednesday night.

By 1995, she had reverted to a modified version of her familiar look, with fewer white stars in the lower half of her costume, but a giant tiara and a larger WW emblem that stretched to a wider belt. The 90s were tough for DC’s trinity: Superman died in 1992, Batman had a serious spinal injury in 1993, and Wonder Woman died in 1997. Ah, comics.

2001

Wonder Woman’s golden armor has its roots in Kingdom Come, a 1996 story set in a future where new heroes run amok in the absence of Superman. In this story, Wonder Woman uses the armor after tensions boil over in a prison for runaway, overpowering beings. The armor was later introduced in their today’s adventures. In a 2001 story, an alien threat named Imperiex targets Earth. Wonder Woman and Queen Hippolyta answer the call to arms, but only Diana survives – for a while. As comics taught fans, almost every character death is undone, and Hippolyta was later revived.

2010

In 2010, Wonder Woman reached issue # 600 thanks to a creative comic math that combined three volumes of their series to arrive at this mostly solemn issue. “Mostly” because one of those stories revealed that Wonder Woman’s timeline had been changed. In this new reality, Diana had been sent away as a child to escape the destruction of Paradise Island and had only retained vague visions of her life as a Wonder Woman. On the plus side, this new world order resulted in a new uniform – one that completely covered her legs! Other changes: Their red and gold gauntlets made a W-shaped impression on those unfortunate enough to be hit by them.

In 2011, DC restarted its entire line. The heroes were portrayed as younger, obliterating some long-standing relationships, and many of them were clad in overly crafted, armor-like costumes. Wonder Woman’s new look included additions to previous uniforms (collar and matching armband) and prints from those looks (goodbye, pants). The color palette was also more restrained: a deep red breastplate (with covered stars), dark blue shorts and boots, and silver accessories (except for the golden lasso of truth).

Marvel Girl 1984 opening weekend results in fast-tracked third movie

“Wonder Woman 1984” hit theaters on Christmas Day, securing the highest box office opening of any domestic film since the coronavirus pandemic crippled the entertainment industry in mid-March.

On Sunday, Warner Bros. announced that the film was worth $ 16.7 million in the United States and Canada. “Wonder Woman 1984” was one of the first major Hollywood blockbusters to be released in theaters and streaming on the same day.

Simultaneous release should accommodate a limited number of open theaters, limited seating capacity, and a broad public that continues to be afraid of returning to theaters.

Warner & Bros. mom AT&T said Sunday that nearly half of HBO Max subscribers saw “Wonder Woman 1984” on Christmas Day. Retail subscribers are those who purchase the streaming service directly, not through a cable or other streaming subscription.

As of October, HBO Max had around 3.6 million direct retail customers. It is unclear how many additional subscribers the company gained prior to the release of Wonder Woman 1984 on the platform.

“Wonder Woman 1984 broke records in the first 24 hours of service and exceeded our expectations for all major ad and subscriber metrics. The interest and momentum we’re seeing suggest this is likely well beyond the weekend will continue, “said Andy Forssell, executive vice president and general manager of WarnerMedia’s direct-to-consumer division. “In these very difficult times, it was nice to give families the opportunity to enjoy this uplifting movie at home where going to the theater wasn’t an option.”

The movie’s box office hit prompted the studio to accelerate a third installment in the Wonder Woman franchise, the company said. It’s written and directed by Patty Jenkins, who directed the previous two films and made it clear to the New York Times last week that she wouldn’t be returning to the franchise if a theatrical model wasn’t possible for the film.

At the beginning of the weekend, analysts weren’t sure the film could top the nearly $ 10 million that “The Croods: A New Age” had secured on the opening weekend during Thanksgiving. There were concerns that HBO Max audience numbers could be grossly cannibalizing ticket sales.

Despite the gross grossing, fans and critics are concerned about Warner Bros.’s DC Extended Universe.

A week before its US debut, Wonder Woman 1984 had a rating of 88% “Fresh” out of 92 reviews on the Rotten Tomatoes review page. As of Sunday afternoon, that score dropped from 285 ratings to 65%.

While the film’s star, Gal Gadot, received widespread acclaim, the film itself has been condemned for its poor story, plot inconsistencies, and inferior CGI.

For comparison, the first Wonder Woman movie released in 2017 scored 93%, the highest of any movie in the DC Extended Universe. Private watch parties and large format screens like IMAX and Dolby were the most popular way for moviegoers to see the latest movie over the vacation weekend, the company said.
